Teaching and Training

Our practice is a training/teaching practice. Our trainees are fully qualified with at least 3 years of hospital experience and have chosen general practice as a career. They are usually attached to the surgery for 12 months. They provide care of the same standard as that given by the other doctors in the practice and will refer to the Partner who is their trainer if necessary.

We also have F2 doctors at the practice who are qualified doctors gaining experience in general practice after qualifying. They are supervised by one of the Partners.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Phlebotomy clinics are held at both sites.

Our team work closely with the Community Matron, District Nurse team, the Health Visitor and Community Midwife who runs a fortnightly ante-natal clinic on a Thursday afternoon at Evergreen Oak Surgery; please contact reception to book an appointment.
